1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account, or by using KhataIN (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you accept them for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind it.
2. Accounts and access
You must give accurate registration details. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything done under your account, and we recommend turning on two-factor authentication. A company owner is responsible for the people they invite and the access their roles give them.
3. The KhataIN service
KhataIN provides cloud tools for businesses in Nepal and for personal finance: sales and invoicing, purchasing, inventory, point of sale, double-entry accounting and reports, tax records such as VAT, team access, and KhataIN Firm, through which accounting and tax firms work on their clients' books with the access each client gives. It also provides a builder and hosting for business and personal websites, and professional profiles. You choose which tools your company uses. Features described as “coming soon” are not part of the Service until they are released. We keep improving the Service and may change its features.
4. Financial and professional disclaimer
KhataIN is software for bookkeeping and reporting. It does not give legal, tax or accounting advice. You remain responsible for checking your records and for getting professional advice where you need it. What KhataIN prepares for you, such as VAT returns, scanned bills and entries suggested by the assistant, are drafts for you to review. You decide what to confirm, file or submit.
5. Plans, subscriptions and billing
Your plan sets which features, limits and team members you have: Business Free, Business Starter or Business Pro for a company, and Personal Free or Personal Pro for your own money, with add-ons such as POS where offered. A newly verified company receives a 15-day Business Pro trial. Paid plans are billed in advance for the monthly or yearly period you choose. When a company's trial or subscription ends without renewal, its workspace becomes read-only: you can still view and export your records, but cannot add or change them until a plan is active again. “Unlimited” means unlimited for normal use: fair-use levels apply, such as how many bills can be scanned in a minute or a month. If you reach one, contact us and we will raise it where the use is genuine.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service for anything unlawful or fraudulent, to collect data without permission, to reverse engineer it, or to spread malicious code.
7. Websites built with KhataIN
Who publishes a website. A website made with KhataIN is published by its owner: the person or business whose account builds it. The owner is responsible for everything on it, including text, photos, products, prices, offers and claims, for having the right to use every photo and text they publish, and for following the laws that apply to what they offer. Inquiries and orders sent through a website are between the owner and their visitor.
What we do. We provide the website builder, hosting and templates. We do not write, check or endorse what a website says, and listing a website in our directory is not an endorsement. We may decline or remove a listing, and may take down a website or content that breaks these Terms or the law, telling the owner why where we reasonably can.
Template content. Templates come with example photos and text. A website that still shows template content says so at the top of every page until the owner replaces it. Example products cannot be bought or asked about, and a template's example figures, reviews, contact details and social links are never published as the owner's.
Professional profiles. We may publish independent profile records built from lawful public sources, such as sports statistics, labelled as independent. A person can claim their own record: we confirm a claim before granting it, and can reverse a claim granted in error. What an owner adds to their profile is their own statement and their responsibility.
Reporting. To report a website, use the “Report this website” link at the bottom of it, or write to us at the address below.
8. Your data
You own all the data, transactions, customer records, products and documents you put into KhataIN. You give us only the limited permission we need to store, process and show your data in order to provide the Service.
9. Intellectual property
KhataIN, its software, design, name and logos belong to Codexpal Technologies Private Limited.
10. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, KhataIN and Codexpal Technologies Private Limited are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or business data, arising from your use of the Service.
